Curtis,

A big 'aloha' from sunny Sydney.

Two questions:

I understand that you were born in Missouri and moved to Hawaii with your family at a young age. Were your parents born in the USA or did they migrate to the USA from overseas?

What fate will befall any individual that pulls out a deck of cards at the Coinvention?

Your contributions to The Magic Café are always stimulating, informative, and a joy to read. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with the rest of us.

Regards,

John

Thank you John, but I will warn you that even your kind comments will not protect you should you remove any more than four cards from your deck at the Coinvention.

The four cards, if removed, must be used as covers only, and shall not be twisted, sent up any sleeves, magician's forced and under no circumstances shall they be lost and then found again (what's the point of that?)

The fate of anyone caught violating this rule is too horrifying to describe, but it will be shared by anyone wearing a "I don't fool them, I entertain them" button, t-shirt, or vacant silly grin.

The family story is not quite as epic as you might imagine. My mother was born in Shanghai, my father in Honolulu. They both grew up in Honolulu, and knew each other here, but met "for real" through college on the mainland U.S.. They were putting my father through medical school at Washington University when I was born.

Now, back to plotting punishments for the pasteboard possessed... :bat:
