Topic: Show for a mental institution

Message: Posted by: scaress (Sep 9, 2011 7:03pm) I was just asked to do a show for a mental institution. they want a cowboy theme, but they are not sure how the patients will respond to guns/whips/magic/ etc. has anyone done something similar? thanks.

Psychologically speaking, the mere sight of some props may be enough to set of a patient, or a crowd of patients. In my opinion, if they have any doubts at all about anything, or are even slightly unsure about something, it should not be done. As far as the magic part goes, you can see if they will let you in for an hour or two one day (do not charge for this) to test it out. See what kinds of reactions you get to just magic, and go from there.
