(Close Window) Topic: False Dealing from a shoe?

I rarely post on the magic Café, but I was just curious if anyone has seen this before - I always though it was impossible to cheat when a shoe is involved, but evidently the advantage player thinks of everything. Erdnase would be proud.

Its a video discouraging people from gambling, the first part is an explanation of Blackjack. The cheating demonstration begins from 1:45, so feel free to skip.

The advantage player is always 5 steps ahead compared with the knowledge of street smart people and general players, so yea.. it is discouraging ;)

I'm not an expert, nor have I looked into it very far, but I do know that there are dealing shoes which hold back cards, so it's like doing a second deal which is what that video shows. They are generally documented in articles and books about old gambling paraphernalia, such as in the Steve Forte issue of Genii published a while back. I also remember reading about other shoes that utilise this along with a shiner. There are probably hundreds of different versions

Yep, you can buy em' on the net, not sure about the quality of them though. Expensive.
