I believe this is more Biblical than asking Jesus in your heart. Asking Jesus into your heart does not make you forgiven. The only way to be forgiven is to admit to our sins and believe that Jesus Christ died being punished for our sins so that we may live for Jesus who had risen from the dead to bring us new life. When we are ministering to our children, be absolutely sure you are making sense to them. If you lead them down a wrong path, even by mistake because of lack of knowledge, their blood is on your head. I only say this because too many of our children are being told this, and it's a lie. Considering that most children who ask Jesus into their hearts eventually fall away from church because they never knew what they were doing, and they never were taught properly. They went through the motions, but no real conviction. Our youth do not want to keep going to church, and local studies have shown that most leave the church because they see too many hyprocrites who don't take their faith serious. I have had conversations with several youths that say they don't go to church anymore because it's all about entertaining rather than teaching and leading. You see, our youth are hungry for some real spiritual food, yet we keep giving them pablum, and when they get tired of pablum we stick raisins in it to make it seem new and fresh. If you cannot make clear what salvation is, what sin is, and how one becomes forgiven in a very biblical way because a trick needs to be performed with it, then I suggest sticking to issues such as discipleship, or relating to spiritual growth. I know of several tricks that can be performed and explain salvation very well. The trick isn't that great so most don't perform it, or most I know don't perform it. I have even been told that the certain trick isn't strong enough to get the message across. Yup, we are living in dangerous times. This is when we need to be using our decernment. [/quote]
