I mix and match them with different color shirts. The deal is I pick out the shirt, my wife matches it with a tie, and suspenders, and away I go. I get a lot of compliments from women, they seem to like the way I dress, what they really notice is that I have the womens touch. I must say that I do like that Tricky Ricky look of black shirt with a brightly colored tie. My second favoriye quote here is from Bob Sanders "there are people calling themselves magician who could not pass the dress code at a waffle house"
Thanks for the reply, Al! The reason I asked about the belt is related to many times I see both worn at the same time. It just looks a little odd to me. I also don't like the belt loops- my pref is to have the pants altered to remove the loops and install buttons if I intend to use suspenders. And while I am on this rant, those metal clips bother me a little too. All in all I like nice suspenders the best, although you gotta keep the waist on the thin side to look good, and that is getting harder to do each day. Yes, the waffle house quote is spot on! Take care, Jim
