On 2010-10-21 23:25, Tony Chris wrote: Hi Juha-Matti, I have also been performing The original Al Baker haunted deck and about a half dozen others including the talented Mr. Burger's rendition. I never had a problem with people asking to see any decks in my performance. I don't know what people are like in Finland but here in Canada it hasn't happened to me anyway, perhaps it is our beer that may have something to do with it!!! :) I don't know how to tell you this mate, but nobody (and I mean nobody) has ever asked to see the deck when I have performed Haunting. They are too stunned by the visual and are extremely entertained or extremely freaked out! I can honestly say that in all my performances of Haunting, I have never had anyone ask to look at the deck. Bye the way, if you are worried about it, I teach my very cool Greek Ditch and switch deck switch on the instructional DVD but not for a deck switch in the END, but in the very beginning as I will sometimes start with a 100% clean deck at my corporate gigs and close up walk around. I use certain gaffed decks like the invisible deck and my own deck called the Apocalypse deck which is by the way, gaffed to the hilt, in my close up work and to be honest with you, if I was ever worried about people asking to see a deck after the effect, it means I haven't done my job in performing magic and have failed at the art of deception or at least failing to entertain them. Basically I would blame nobody but myself for sucking at my endeavors to be a magician. I have never switched the Haunting deck at the end. Sometimes and very sparingly ONLY in the beginning as I sometimes I will actually do some straight magic with a normal deck and continue with Haunting to close. I can let them handle the normal deck completely and ask them to even shuffle it. Once they select the card and my back is turned for them to show everyone and sign the card, I perform my Greek ditch and switch, which takes all of about 2 seconds at the most. Once I turn around again, I have Haunting in my hands and they are non the wiser. Like I said, I have never switched the deck at the end. If you are really worried about it, here is a line I use to use way back when about 20 years ago when I first got into magic and was not very good at it either. If a Spectator says something like: Gee Mr. magic man, can I see that special deck of yours? Tony Chris: Looking at them into their eyes with a very dramatic gaze..."I believe you just did"!....and smile as you put it away! Thanks again to all who have purchased Haunting so far. We have now shipped out your orders today. Christopher and I thank everyone for the many, many, pre-sales and purchases at mindvent last weekend. For anyone attending the Tri-Cities magic convention on November 5,6 and 7th Here in Vancouver, Canada, please drop by my dealer table and say hi. I will be delighted to demo Haunting for you up close and personal and talk a little shop! Best, Tony
