It may be off the market because I have heard from at least two people that the effect was poorly made and completly unreliable (not to mention over-priced).

Lyndel,
Perhaps that's the reason I didn't get it in the first place. I have seen the toy on sale for about $30 and I'm sure with a couple small modifications I can get it to work for me. thanks! enjoy! Joe Comet |

Now I feel bad for such a poor pun (and because some of us could Never afford $300 for the fantastic monkey at the other site)(although we wish we could ), I typed "cymbal clashing monkey" in google and this is a short list of the entries.
http://www.streetpeddler.com/cgi-bin/str......%20Chimp http://www.kitestailstoys.com/product.ph......p;page=1 http://www.surprise.com/traits/humor/funky_monkey.cfm the above site is a comparisson shopping guide of several cymbal clashing monkey selling sites and lastly (for me, as the list seemed to go on ad infinitum...) ebay has 15 listed under "monkey cymbal" http://search.ebay.com/monkey-cymbal_W0Q......focusZbs Again, These would be a poor substitute for the first one mentioned, however, they might get you by , until you can afford the Really nice model . Steve Ps Don't you just love those smilies |

I purchased this from Hocus-Pocus when it first came out and have not had a problem with it. I had to replace the t#$ s#@^&* a few years ago, but the monkey is still going strong. Bruce Kalver manufactured "Tipper the Monkey", and when I had a couple of questions, he took the call and really help me out. I believe Hocus-Pocus re-released the product recently. Give them a call, Paul and the boys can answer any question you might have.

I, too, have the Tipper Monkey from Hocus-Pocus.com and love it. I bought it roughly two years ago and use it regularly...have NEVER had a problem with it and it gets a tremendous response during my street shows. I know it is a limited production item...meaning they offer them infrequently and in limited quantities. Each monkey is had-wired...hence, the limited quantities and the higher price. I paid $250.00 for mine and it has been worth every cent. In fact, it has paid for itself many times over in increased tip revenue and the higher price kept every Tom, Dick and Luigi from owning one...which I appreciated. Hocus Pocus recently had a similar "Drumming Bear" animatron in their catalog. Follow Ken's advice...give them a call. They're great folks!

Seems like this item is associated with Bruce Kavler.
