I have an old card duck which I have never used. I am a sucker for odd props and this is one I have always loved. Unfortunately I have never seen a great routine for one. Does any one have any Ideas, or know where there is a good one inn print?

Never saw one in print, but in my youth I used this prop in most kid shows. I would use an Alphabet deck instead of a regular deck of cards and force the letter Y. Now, as in any kid show, I could stretch out the moment the duck found the card by asking the group to call out the letter they had... they would scream, "Y!!!" and I would say, "Because that's how Howie (the duck) will find it. So what's the letter?" they scream, "Y!!!" I say, "He needs to hear it, that's why?" And this would go on for awhile as the kids screamed and laugh at how I was not understanding them.
Also sometimes threw in the letters A and U to have laughs on the kids screaming "A!!!" and pretended they couldn't hear me and I would say to one kid, "Okay, now when I point at you it's your turn to scream out the letters... get ready and I point at you and..." "He screams out U!!!" And I say, "No, no... I'm not the one who screams the letter." I then point at him and he screams, "U!!!" I say, "No, NO, not me... you... you scream the letter." As with any kid's shows you can see where you can draw out this situation. Greg

Don't forget to blindfold the duck and later find it "peeking" out of the other side of the blindfold (away from the audience side). The kids love that one, too.

Either Senator Crandal or Owens had as part of the routine the wooden duck laying a wooden egg (insert your own "decoy joke").
