Bought a tool box at Wal*Mart, went to put my props into it and CAN'T FIND THEM!
Well, found the Cups and Balls, but no Egg Bag or Chop Cup or any of the other things that have been sitting in a plastic bag for the longest time! Now, if I can't find them, I'm going to have to start re-buying! ARRGH!

PANIC: You mean IF they turn up!
PAIN: 'If,' in this case, 'if' is not good!

That's why I said, "when". You gotta keep the faith brotha'.
I have lost things countless times that I have thought were gone forever. Most turned up....some sooner, some later. It does feel good when you find what you thought was lost forever. It's about better than when you buy it new. Scripture about the "lost Sheep" sums it up pretty well. I am hoping you find you egg bag and chop cup. I just sold a brand new, Senor Mardo Egg Bag, and I miss it also. Regan

Don't think that didn't run through my mind.
There's a possibility I took them to work to play with on my break and left them there. I have to work today (last two days were days off) so I'll look around where the coats are and see if I left the bag there. (Next purchase, after a keyboard stand, are a couple of plastic dressers to put my "blankity-blank" props in! Next purchse after that, more props to put into the dresser! osted: Jan 26, 2006 1:58pm Nope! No bag at Wal*Mart. Nobody remembers seeing anything of the kind. Next thing to do is to tear out the magic room and the bed room and see if it got stuck under something. *cy* After that, it's sending orders back to Hank Lee and The Trickery to start rebuildiing my props!

I remembered I had a set of linking rings, but couldn't find them for a while. The reason, I reckon, was that I wasnt using them often enough. Plus, of course, I hadnt been storing them methodically in a set place when I finished with them. All in all, all my own fault!
The presentation makes the magic.

Yep. My problem in a nutshell is that I'm not using the stuff enough to be able to keep track of it!
Incidently... I FOUND THEM!!! Exactly where they belonged. I THOUGHT I'd divided up the props from the folders of instructions and/or articles of interest. So when I looked in one of the bags and saw the folders, I kept looking for another bag that would be holding the props. In fact, the props were UNDER those folders! In accordance with Murphy's Law, it is most likely to turn up once you have replaced it.
The most powerful magic one can wield is to use Murphy against himself. |

Glad to hear that I am not the only one with problems loosing props. If you really use a special prop for your shows, one can justify having a backup. But one can also argue that we should push our magic in the direction of using props that are more ordinary and can easily be replaced.
