Sorry, for making two threads in a row but I think if I don't post this now I'll forget it and I'll have a major book disaster on my hands!
I love my books and magazines. I try to keep good care of them (ok, maybe not when I was 8, the Mark Wilson course book I bought then is now IN PEICES), but still I have a nagging feeling that I'm not doing my best, especially when I see the tiny bits of shelf-wear on my precious Kaufmans. Can anyone recommend any (cheap) ways of keeping my books and magazines in MINT, obsessed-collector condition? Thanks, KIMURA |

There's no cheap way, but go to your local comic book store or look online for magazine sized poly bags and acid free boxes to keep them in.

Yikes!
The first thing you need to do is get yourself a bunch of Brodart Book Jacket Covers. http://www.shopbrodart.com/site_pages/bjc/default.htm All, good, used book stores know what these things are. Sometimes they will let you get a few (for a huge markup). I found a Library Suppy store in my area (MD) where I can get a great deal on bunches of 25. Mark |

Do an eBay search for "Brodart" and you will find hundreds of listings at great prices.

Ah, excellent! I bought a copy of Steel and Silver second hand and it came in one of these.
I'm going to try and find some kind of comic store near me for my magazines so I can keep them all neat and tidy and unripped. |

Went to search for it and saw some DJs lying on the table.
Is the broadart like a transparent layer of plastic to wrap around the book or what? |

Yes, it's fairly thick plastic sheeting that is transparent. You will probably find your local library uses them to look after books, at least they do here in Britain.

Buy Leo Behnke's Book on the Conservation of Magic.
