Okay, you have a great new idea (or variation) for a magic trick, but no money to manufacture it yourself. Do you approach known magic manufacturers, magic dealers, or do you try to do it yourself with a non-magical investor?

You could go in any of those directions. Obviously, if you are working with someone else's money, you can expect less of the profit- and make sure you understand how retail pricing works, so you price it correctly and don't have unrealistic expectations of how much will be made.
Likewise, if you also want them to spend the $ to promote it, you have to expect them to pay for that before you would get your cut. Sometimes, a dealer might buy right outright for a flat fee.
Leaping Lizards!!! Who knew it was possible.

Hi Dai Bato,
I suggest that you contact Brent Geris at the Magic Apple in Studio City. Show him your innovation. He has a good eye towards what might be "sales worthy". Another suggestion for you--Show it to Gordon Bean and the Castle. Heck! Show it to anyone at the Castle--They will certainly share their ideas with you. Regards, Paul Green |

Dai, I'll be at the Magic Apple this Saturday. I would love to see your card trick. Brent could at least help you where to go if you need it. I do a lot of card tricks and am pretty well read. If you need help I'll be there as always.
