I don't know about the UK, I spent ages looking for them with no joy, the only place I could find was an electronic store (can't remember which one now) but they were small and VERY expensive.

The best place I found is http://www.wondermagnets.com
which is in the U.S., they sell all shapes/sizes (load's of uses) and are very cheap.

I got mine in about a week paying by credit card.

Here are some addresses of UK magnet suppliers. The electronic store that Gavin refers to may well be Maplins.

Thanks for the links.

I was wondering this, I have a Raven & The Bat.
In magnectic terms... how do I order let's say.. a magnet with the same characteristics as the Bat?
It's quite hard for a non magnet expert to even inquire about this.

I am sure they would not be impressed with a question like "Can I buy a magnet just like my Bat?"

Gavin.... which model magnets did you buy from the US and what were you using them for?
Don't give away any trade secrets though.

Regards Alan

Do have a look at Wondermagnet.com they show comparative sizes to say a dime and they have a huge selection. The prices are terrific, and if you buy a selection I'm sure you will find one simililar to your needs.

The neodymium (nib) magnets are all much stronger than a normal steel magnet and in the selection of sizes I got, 1/32 thru 1/4 inch the power seems approximately a factor of their volume. So a 1/8" inch by 1/4" is about half as strong as a 1/4 by 1/4

The only problem I've had is keeping the darn things in say a rope. Two nib magnets attract so much using a pair they literally pull each other out. I found a single nib magnet and say a small piece of iron wire works well together.

The tiny 1/16 dia by 1/32 thick magnets are just dying to be used in playing cards or folding money but I have not come up with an effective idea yet. Maybe in conjunction with an under the nail finger magnet.

I'm not from the UK, but I am sure I saw someone from the UK selling neodymium magnets on Ebay. You might check them out.
