For those who have this: how big an audience do you think it could play to without losing any impact? It looks fantastic for a parlour or drawing room style performance - but what about stage?
You could have a stand microphone to amplify the sound but I'm thinking more of the visual aspect ... |

Yep, I have used the spirit telegraph with large audiences - think one side of a gym filled with several hundred students - and I use a mic to amplify the tap of the telegraph. I will be using this in the same way. With the mic held in the front of it the bell ringing can be heard very clearly for a large group, and it should also have no problem picking up some of the thumping noise - and they should be able to see the movement also of the musket.
If you want more details, pm me as Roth mentioned. Take care, Chad |

Thanks for your help Chad. I'll PM you if I think of any specific questions - but that gives me a pretty good idea of things.

I hope that 18 people will make a miracle from the nice toy...
I confirm that it perfectly fits my need, you'll see, but it will take time. |

Did a favor for my good friend, Jim Fassbinder for his San Francisco Ghost Hunt. I set up an exhibit of haunted Seance equipment in the Mary Lake Room of the Queen Ann Hotel on Sutter Street. This included: Spirit Telegraph, Ark of Asteroth, Dead Ringer, Ouiji boards ghost meters, and The Departed. I kept ringing the bell and activating the muskett ball on the Departed. The fifty plus went wild. One ten-year-old girl was overheard saying, "This is the best day of my life." because she had heard and seen a ghost

My first weekday off in over a month and I'm posting a few experiences with using The Departed in lots of performances over the past month. First, even with groups of several hundreds - I had no need to use my microphone for amplification. The audience are all silent before just waiting to see if something will happen - then, when the bell goes off the first time there is a collective gasp and "jump" and occasionally a few screams. I cannot emphasize how strong the reactions are to this. I have had "cool" high school guys jump when they bell rings in response to their question. I normally ask a total of 4 questions and that's it - nothing to drawn out - and it has been the closer in my show each time and people are talking about it the rest of the day.
The look of this lovely antique just shouts simple wooden box that's very old. I also use the back "sucker" part in my routines and that just makes it stronger as people nod as if that explains everything and then you blow their minds when it actually "really" works! I never thought that I would do so, but this has replaced my spirit telegraph as the grand finale in said version of my show - as it perfectly fits my program/theme and it can be heard without amplification and the ball can be SEEN moving from a long way away - as in across a gym floor in the bleachers or from the back of a decent sized auditorium with hundreds of students. The device has also never failed me - the ball and bell ring/tap perfectly on cue each and every time I have used them this past month. Highly recommended again from someone who uses it A LOT! Chad |

Karl Feret who makes the Departed for me has just finished a run. All pending orders have shipped and Karl made two extra Departed units.
They just need the "werks" installed and can ship within one week of ordering. Karl also just shipped pending Spiritus Magnus orders and made one extra unit that can ship very quick. Lastly he made 6 Lillian Jewel boxes with pending orders shipping and 3 extra units on the shelf. Thanks! |

The "werks" that need to get in my Oculus has reached 4 months. I'd be nice to see mine get its guts before these. Not trying to be a ******, but I have given you lots of room with building my orders. If anyone is looking for something special before halloween, you can't go wrong with Spritus or LJBox. These are two of my favorites. As it's been stated, both are great working evil tools.
