I just saw a demo of this, and for $9.95 you get a set of 4 "wide cards" what does the "Café" think of these?

I don't have the full link but it's available at http://www.elmwoodmagic.com
I"ve heard (or is it read) that it's not a lot different than using a short card, let me know what you think. |

I've tried every kind of locator card there is at one time or another. Might as well try "wide cards". ;-)
Thanks, Robert |

One problem that springs to mind is that, at least for me, cards are a consumable. I go through the cheap Costco Bicycle cards with some frequency. These cards will invariably get banged around with the rest of the deck and will eventually need replacing. $10 for 4 cards sounds steep to me. I'll just stick to my breather crimps and corner shorts--they'll always be free and I can decide which cards get the work put into them.

Wide card only available thru Paul Richards. He sold Elmwood and has exclusive rights to Trabucco Wide Card. I saw him do a 4 ace production at St Louis Magic Expo sponsored by Penguin. Brilliant ! I just ordered some. I'll keep you in the know Big Gerry

I just talked with Vic Trabucco He informed me that his wide cards can only be purchased directly and in person from Paul Richards. If you go to Paulrichards.com you can check Paul's Penguin schedule where you can purchase wide cards directly from him.

I may use a breather, bridge or crimp because they can be impromptu for whatever purposes. I've used these wide cards for a force spectator cut and they are beautiful for that. While consumable they can last if only used for certain effects where they are ideal to use. Yes, one would want to use them as locator cards, but the fore mentioned and other methods serve well for that. I love these wide cards, however I use them just to force a cut. I've found a small failure rate with breathers for this purpose and there are effects that require that method (other methods can be used of course). Short and corner shorts are great. I hope this is helpful additional information about uses for these cards.
