Hi folks,
I know Mark Wilson gives instructions for how to build this, but could anyone point me towards a retailer who sells the Goldfish Bowl Production (the one featured in movie "The Prestige"). I've internet searched it, couldn't find anything. Thanks, |

The method portrayed in the Prestige is a very old method once used by Chinese performer such as Chung Ling Foo. It is not at all practical for today. Besides in the film, it was not actually performed.
May I suggest a version of the table production like my Water Fountain production. It could be made without the fountain and just the bowl and fish. Contact me if you need more information on this. Richard

Are you trying to make a really large fishbowl appear? If so, there are other more modern methods of doing so than the method shown in the Prestige. If it is just a small hand-held fishbowl, then the table method Richard suggests could be used, or a Westgate Bowl production tray if you have an assistant.

There are also ways to body load small fishbowl but not as huge as the bowl in the movie.

The numerous methods employed by Jack Gwynne are well explained in the book "Jack Gwynne: The king of the Royal Family of Magic" by David Charvet. The book is currently out of print, but used copies can be had.
It includes his fantastic stack of bowls as well as other bowl productions. Excellent!

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm wanting to produce a really large fishbowl. Rich Marotta's looks great, but too small for what I'm looking for. I've found a video of exactly what I'm looking for. Anyone know if this effect can be purchased? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd7mLxUdWug thanks again,
Brett Saunders. |

That's the exact one I was looking for. You're a champion spellbinder.

I also make a bowl production. Mine was used by Lance Burton for over 30 years and has fountain spray in it.
