I would have to hear some pretty awesome and fantastic reviews, before I spend $25 for $4 trick.
What's with the performance only portion, if you don't want to reveal something, just don't show it. |

Let us know how you like it. I am also concerned with what the video doesn't show.

I like it .... the performance only routine is very nice too ... it looks as if the ropes are not the same as with the two that come with the video. I don't mind perfomance only sections as long as I get what I paid for. Paul Daniels does performance only stuff on his DVD's Paul Cummins has as well. I even think Daniel Cros released a all performance dvd. All three are great tricks ... the third looks a little bit harder that the first two.

It apeared to me that the youtube video was several tricks edited in such a way that it looks like one continuous trick.

Looks like stuff Magic Ian has been offering for years.
Is there anything new here?

Ian and I spoke about that a good while back .. Ian even spoke to Mr. Criswell about it ... Ian didn't have a problem with it ... I think Ian's version uses a different method.

Does that video look like several tricks edited to look like one continuous trick to you? SYRS doesn't want to answer me.

Sorry Al - I didn't see the reply direction I thought that was a general statment. It's two seperate effects and the third one is just performance only. He teaches a different method for Profs Nightmare and a Different routine using the same size ropes. Sorry again I didn't see the direction of your reply

First, in another thread, I showed Chriswell that this method has been used by several magiciams and is NOT original. I listed the clip in that thread which showed the same exact handling from a European magician in an old clip.
Second, just like my download (for $10), you start dirty and end clean. This newest clip has tons of flashes (can be seen as the ropes are stretched) and I would have used his older one (IMHO). This method, other than three ropes grow to the same is NOT my method. Third, the holy grail of PN effects is to show the three ropes separately. Myself and some others have many methods to do so. This version was sold by Murphys ($18 retail) from another creator several years ago and discontinued. The $25 is a bit much for this method which has very little EV (entertainment value) but can be a good puzzle. The fact that Magic City sells it does not give it credibility.
