Disc Description: The magician shows a deck of cards and states that it contains two predictions. A card is freely chosen (really!) and hidden. Nobody sees the face of the card (magician or spectator). The magician then runs through the deck and removes his two prediction cards, which he says will reveal the value and suit of the selection.

Let's say the two cards are the Five of Spades and the Queen of Diamonds. The selected card is turned face up. It is the Eight of Clubs – no relation to EITHER prediction. The experiment appears to have failed... until the Five and the Queen are turned face down.

One has an Eight drawn on its back and the other has a Club drawn on its back!

The magician proposes an experiment in fate as he introduces two decks of card; one red & one blue. The blue deck is placed in front of a spectator and the magician never touches it again. The red deck is removed from its case and shown to have a different number written on the back of each card. A second spectator then names ANY card (Really!). We'll say it's the Two of Diamonds. This card is removed from the red deck. Another card is randomly selected, and the number on it’s back is noted (let's say the number is 29).

The spectator now uncases the blue deck. He counts down 29 cards... The 29th card is the Two of Diamonds!

In many magic circles Cameron Francis has become known as the guy who creates great card magic. Having seen much of Cameron's tricks I can't argue the point. Over the last few years Cameron has had hit after hit of astonishing magical effects that practically anyone can do and the Annihilation Deck is no exception.

Any performer who carry's this deck with them is heavily armed with some seriously strong magic that will totally slay a lay audience and even fry most magicians.

The trick plays out exactly like the ad copy describes (refreshing in an industry where advertisements often exaggerate a product) and because the deck does most all of the work you can concentrate your efforts on the presentation and performance of this mini miracle.

So what do you get for your magical dollar?

The Annihilation Deck is an instructional DVD which not only teaches you the signature trick (Total Annihilation), but several bonus effects as well. Each of these bonus tricks could have easily been marketed seperately, thus you are receiving great value for the small asking price. Hey, Cameron even gives you a fresh deck of Bicycle cards as part of the package so all you'll need to provide is a Sharpie pen.

Speaking of bonus tricks, though Total Annihilation is an awsome trick I personally prefer Red Hot Annihilation. Basically this is a variation in which the two prediction cards are the only odd backed cards in the deck. This is some very strong magic folks. This looks so amazing because the prediction cards are red and the rest of the deck is blue. Only two red cards in the entire deck - yet the prediction matches. Killer stuff.

How difficult is this to do?

Easy, and I do mean easy. Cameron explains everything and leaves nothing out. The only so-called move in the entire effect is a double undercut. If that presents a problem you might consider buying a Svengali Deck instead. Better yet, start reading some basic card books.

Pro's -vs- Cons?

As I previously stated, the trick is a no brainer to do and is seriously strong magically speaking. Though I wouldn't recommend it, you could instantly repeat the effect and end with a different outcome - how cool is that? Not many tricks in magic allow you to do that.

You will have to construct the deck yourself, but again, Cameron takes you by the hand and teaches you everything you'll need to know in order to make your own Annihilation Deck.

Can the deck be examined?

No it can't. But this really doesn't matter folks, nobody is going to care. You present the trick in such a way that I doubt that anyone is going to ask to see the deck. Why? Because the routine presents things as being absolutely fair and spectators are not going to think you are using a trick deck. If you believe otherwise then it is my opinion that you need more experience with audience management and performing in the real world. I'm not trying to be an arse here - I'm just saying.

Finally, the DVD is produced well having the high standards that Big Blind Media is known for. Running at just over thirty minutes in length there is enough magic to keep you busy for the next few weeks me thinks. I like this trick and have no reservations in giving it my highest recommendation.
