Needed something more western, so I just tooled the bands on the top and bottom and wrapped the cardboard tubes that were included. Also, wrapped the bottle necks with green florist tape.

Looks good to me! Much better than the sparkling contact paper that's put on tubes.

Tubes look great! Now change the bottle labels to "Old Red Eye", or something a bit less "spaghetti western".

I agree with Michael you need Whiskey labels and the bottles should be brown.
Take a look at the labels Terry Elton sells http://www.themagicofterryelton.com/new_page_1.htm This may be similar to what you are looking for.

Sorry for apparently hijacking this thread. Please rest assured it was not my intention. I am looking for someone to make a set of three tubes for my multiplyting bottles and well, the title of this thread says it all, so I jumped in.
I'm not much of a handyman and I know others on this forum are very skilled craftsmen. Please PM me with an approximate cost if you are willing able to do this. Thanks! Doug |

Doug, you can go in many directions for the tubes.
Cardboard shipping tubes work well and can be covered with any style/color material you like. I have also made tubes out of PVC, white on the outside and black on the inside. Can also be covered as you like. I'd be happy to help out if you really don't want to make them. What kind of material do yo want the tubes made of? What do you want the finished tues to look like? What kind of bottles do you have? Mulee |

You can get a local plastic company like a trade show display company to cut plexiglas tubes for you. Then cover with contact or the glitter contact that David cressy Co. sells at conventions.
I believe this company can supply you tubes that will fit your bottles, I know a person who got them from them for their bottles. http://www.dazzlingmagic.com/livestock_magic.htm |

Bill:
Thanks for the tip, but I don't want to do the work myself. I'm a magician and no good with my hands, LOL! Mulee: Thanks for your kind offer to make these for me. BTW, the tubes you made look great. I have a set of Hanada bottles that I neeed tubes for. The bottles themselves are stunning but they expect you to use the shipping tubes they came in for your routine. These are simply unfinished cardboard tubes. For $1500 I certainly expected to have performance tubes with the set!!! I don't really know what material I would prefer or exactly how I want them to look. Nothing too gaudy, as I want the bottles to be the focus. I would like the interior of the tubes to be black and something that won't scratch the bottles. Cardboard , PVC or anything else is fine as long as it waon't scratch the bottles. I can provide you with the dimensions of the bottles. I have three sets of Ken Brooke bottles and the Hanada bottles are just slightly smaller than the Brooke sets. Thanks. Doug |

I really do not suggest you do anything to the insides of the tubes, this would cause material transfer to the bottles. Such as paint, it is very hard to apply felt to the inside of a tube, I don't have any idea how one would do that successfully.
Again, if you do not like the Dazzle tubes, then you only option is to seek a plexi company. We have one here in out town. They will not only order, cut, and finish the tubes, plus anything else. Of course they charge commercial prices. Tubes are always hard to get made. You may want to contact Jay Leslie here on the Café http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/bb_pr......ser=8645 he manufacturers magic items, he may have a solution for your needs. |
