Okay I created a trick. Now, I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't sell on the market, but for future reference, in case I ever invent the trick of the millenia, how would I possibly go about selling it at stores, online shops, and more?
Just in case you're curious, the trick I invented is a mix between Hyrum/Gloppy the Haunted Hank and a trick that I found in one of Bill Tarr's books. Unfortunately, my computer has crashed and I lost the drive hack for the EyeToy when it crashed, so Ihave no way of uploading videos once again. Basically, the effect is that the magician shows a shoe lace, gives it to the audience for examination. Next, he hands out a napkn/handkerchief/whatever that has a hole in the middle for the audience to examine. The magician cleanly passes the rope through the hole in the handkerchief. However, (I use the story of magically creating a pet napkin, you can see where Hyrum comes in) when the rope is passed through the second time, it cannot fully be passed through. The magician can now walk his pet/ghost on a leash! Makes for a good comedic act and very clean beginning, middle, and end. Difficulty: Intermediate $15.00 (lol just had to throw that in there for giggles) |

You asked how to sell an effect? You need a video demo. Youtube it and put a link,
if it is good, it will sell. That is basically how it is done in 2011. Or send a video demo to Murphy's magic, and if they buy it, then you are in business, but without a video, I don't think anyone will buy it. (I know you mentioned you have computer problems, but find a way around it. Invest in a new video program, computer, or whatever it takes. If you can't or are not willing to do that, than you just as well quit. And you will also need video instructions, as no one reads anymore.) Good luck! ACE

Contact Paul Harris Productions, Ellusionist, Theory11, Papercrane Magic, etc. These are some magic producers that I know of that are always looking for the next best thing, or in some cases, interresting enough to make it sound like it's the next best thing.
