I am interested in purchasing Spooked. My main concern is having it on the floor. That might not be the way I would like to do it. Is it really the best way? because of the inv. thr. is that the way it should be done. If you can do it on a table or in the hands, does it really suffer or become in danger of being exposed?
While I have no trouble with the price tag, I don't want to buy it & not use it. Bending down to the floor just doesn't seem like something I would want to do. Any help would be appreciated. If your answer might be something you don't want on an open forum, please PM me. Thanks for any help you can offer. Allan |

You could do it on a table, but you probably wouldn't want to do it in the spec's hands because of the chance of touching the IT. The deck being on the floor adds a more "Hands off" element that you don't get with the deck on a table or in the hands. It makes the trick just that little bit more impossible.
Regards, Martino.

Ah demo of spooked deck performed by Cyril Takayama is on magicproshop. The second part of the demo is the haunted deck effect. I like the shadow idea combined with the haunted deck

Looks very cool! Can you do it with a bridge size deck?
Thanks Fredrik

I used spooked for quite some time, it is really nice. To me it was easy to get in and out of, and having the card spin out is great. All of the "disadvantages" are indeed true to most of this genre.
I would ask this question, is there a difference between this effect and the rising card? Sure there is more movement of the "cutting" of the deck, but with the rising card you defy gravity. So, if you are looking for a animated revelation of a card, I would consider both of these in the same respect. Saying that, you might want to check out Gary Plant's Rising card as an option. You can't use a borrowed deck, but you get two cards, and everything the deck/cards/box can be examined. This is the main reason I don't do Spooked so much anymore, the routines are two similar to be done at the same time. But if you want a haunted deck, and you want to take away some of the body movement and take it out of your hands, I think Spooked is the way to go. I haven't seen Haunted yet, however.

In the right hands, this is a reputation maker. You start clean and end clean. With a borrowed deck.
Most of us that have been around magic for a while would pay much more than this to have a routine that is doable, repeatable and a miracle to a layman. I am sorry to say I have paid much more than this for magic that I do not use. |

I remember closing a bar one night and waiting for the right time to do this, finally as everyone watched me do this and put the deck on the floor...nothing, t****d broke! Haven't had the confidence to do this again. seeing this topic come up again, maybe I'll give another shot. I like the new I.T version also, but the card shooting out as in "SPOOKED" makes it more memorable.
