I have the Butterfly and after purchasing the accompanying DVD - am very happy with it. Really innocnet looking pad...
But, I can't find any reviews of the Nematode? I am looking at developing an Add A Number routine and was considering this as a possible option. I have Carlyle's video where he describes his pad and I like the idea from Ted Leslie's Paramiracles. Thanks, ryan |

Ha...funnily enough, I don't remember writing a review of it! I remember mentioning it in passing, but I didn't report back or anything...
not saying I didn't review it - but I just don't remember where! so I'm not being mean by not sending you a review I don't remember doing...it is very good though, and very practical...

Thank you gentlemen. I haven't made up my mind on this yet, since I have a couple of alternatives available.
BTW, just noticed that I misspelled Mr. Lesley's name in my first post - I need to slow down...I haven't tried his pad yet in an actual performance but it looks quite deceptive - easy to make and easy to do. A litle concerned about allowing the spectators to handle the pad too much... ryan |

I have one in hand! In the interest of this being an open forum I'll do my best to make useful comments without tipping anything problematic.
The Nematode maintains the same quality craftsmanship we have come to expect from John. The mechanics should be familiar to anyone who owns one of John's boards or pads, with the same technology (well, half of it) being used in service of s******** rather than gaining an i*********. I bought it with the intent of creating a routine similar to the folio based DD and Q & A sequence Banachek teaches on his DVDs and now sells as a standalone product. I was fortunate to see him perform it in a room of young, attractive people with no association to L & L whatsoever and the audience reaction was even stronger! The Nematode appears like it will work quite well for this and other effects we associate with such a device. I want to perform the above mentioned routine in a setting where I can either sit at or stand next to a table or two holding around 15 - 25 students and faculty. It is a casual, relatively small setting and The Nematode seems a better fit. I also like the sense of security in knowing that The Nematode closes in the same way as with the original Hornet technology and products that followed. John includes 7 1/2 pages of instructions which, along with The Nematode, are sent to you in his trademark pencil case. I've amassed quite a collection of these over the years! The instructions cover the basics of the pad, some advanced handling options and 7 or so effects. These include, among others, a DD, an RV, a Q & A and an amnesia effect I thought well constructed and plan to perform. That's about all I can say for now, not having used The Nematode yet. But I think I'm a good judge of products so am more than comfortable recommending this to anyone wanting to delve into the areas I mentioned above and more. |
