How about ladybugs, dream catchers, number 7, a Buddha statue, Saint Christopher medal, a tortoise or even a statue of an elephant.

Slim, this may also fit,and be a little different!
'Biker Bell',is a bell given to Harley Riders! The Bell is attached somewhere low on motorcycle,to keep "Gremlins" from coming off the road! The ringing of bell, drives the gremlins away! But,it must be a gift ! Very Strong belief,in the Motorcycle World! This may be something to add, with a ring! Again,it must be a gift! You can get at any Harley Dealer! I always wear a Medal when I ride, and yes I have a Bell! (And,"LOUD" pipes) lol ~G

It may be a regional thing but I remember growing up that buckeye nuts were supposed to bring good luck.
They are also considered good luck charms in Hoodoo and are used in mojo bags. |

Buckeyes, were considered a item for good luck in my area too!
I,could never really think a animal's part was lucky! (I did have a Rabbit's Foot, when I was younger tho!) I keep thinking,it was not lucky for the animal, that it once belonged to!

Five yen coin. Carries the secret of Japan's rise from the ashes of the war on it, has a linquistic pun embedded meaning good luck and makes a great impromptu pendulum.

There was a civil war captain named George Dixon who had a lucky bent gold coin with a message of love engraved on it from his sweetheart. The coin was bent when a bullet hit it, saving his life. This was an urban legend during and after the civil war.
Turns out this story is completely true. http://news.nationalgeographic.co.uk/new......oin.html So borrow a coin from someone, have their partner sign their name on the coin, or have them write the name of someone they care about on the coin. It bends in their hands, boom instant lucky coin. Of course Dixon also died when his ship sank, so it's worth reminding people that lucky charms do run out. |

In the lower corner of the box you will see one of the Lucky Tokens I have been using for a while.
http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/aa120......95e0.jpg I use these far more than one would think as a story telling prop and a give a-way. When I find them at flea markets I buy em if they are not too expensive. Under $5.00 is a good rule of thumb. Every now and then a small box will show up and get sold for the same amount or just a few dollars more. I do not think this type of token is in production anymore. Also look at vintage love tokens many of these are hand carved into an old coin and are sometimes used as lucky tolens (see Ironwood). Also if your doing research into these types of tokens C. Ironwood would be a great place to start. |

WitchesHat's story right reminds me of another: some in law enforcement and the military consider the bullets that struck but did not kill them to be lucky.
Then there are all the sports related superstitions: the jersey or socks left unwashed since the first victory wearing them, the fan's favorite beer mug, etc. Then there are unique items, some of which straddle the line between luck and blessing: the spring at Lourdes, the Grail, the Blarney Stone, the belly of a Buddha statue. |
