It is unlikely that you will get a base metal clad coin to wear like a silver coin. It is also unlikely that a coin from the 1970s will pass for something as old as a Morgan dollar, as those stopped being minted in the 1930s.

You may wish to visit a coin shop (or look online) for a well worn Morgan or Peace dollar. Chances are, you can get one for the cost of the silver, as those well worn have little value to collectors.

With silver fairly high still, the old Morgans are being sold for their content, so are still fairly spendy. Does it have to be silver? You could probably find a few old English pennies for not much money (my local coin shop has a big box of what they call junk coins - mostly foreign coins of low value, some odd casino tokens - and they sell them for 25 cents each or 5 for a buck. I was able to get together a few pennies with Edward on them. I want them well worn to emphasize that they are real, so I was fortunate there. They fit in an off-brand coin box and I like them for the premise of my little routine.

It is also possible to get some commercial solutions for darkening different metals. From the smell, gun blue paste uses sulfur to darken the metal. It works on a lot of metals to make them dark. I have not tried the nickel Ike dollars, but it might be worth the $4 to get a tube of the paste and see if it does.

There are a couple of products available online:

Darken It
Patina It

I have used Darken It to successfully age clad coins in the same manner bleach is used to darken 90% silver coins.
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

For reenacting, I've used paper towels soaked in vinegar to age metal objects - wrap the object in the towels, let it soak for a while (longer = darker), then rinse of the vinegar and give the highlights a moderate rubbing to shine them a bit.
