Gary's work looks amazing. I remember a great little interview in Jason England's 'From the Cellar: notes on the bottom deal' and seeing the deal in action is wonderful.

Gary your work is up there with the best of them. I have always been interested in acquiring Jason's notes on the bottom deal but have never been able to

Jason recently released an updated instructional on Bottom Dealing on Theory11. He went into much more detail than the first time around and shot it in higher definition. It is worth your attention if you're interested in Bottom Dealing.

I found that it was easier for me (i also have small hands + long fingers) to use Jason England's Modified Erdnase grip (Version 2) from his first bottom deal download. It allowed me to keep diagonal control of the deck and allowed the card to be easily striked out. I also got a bit of info on this from watching the shade opening sequence. Seems silly but it helped me get the timing correct. Ill leave a link to it here, the bit I'm referring to starts around 20 seconds in.

Ryan,
I'm glad you were able to get something out of the bottom deal download. But just to clarify for readers who may not know any better - the Modified Erdnase grip you referenced isn't mine. Hustlers and magicians alike were using that grip long before I was born. The grip in question was championed by Gene Maze (and I often informally refer to it as the "Gene Maze grip" since Gene was a friend). It was also the grip taught to Steve Forte by one of the two best card/dice hustlers he ever met. Jason

It certainly allows for successive bottoms. Steve does it well. I have problems with all strike deals because of dry hands I am old. I do the bottom deal used by George Joseph. I really like the way the strike deals look but I have problems doing them well. Jason does teach a nice variety that no matter what kind of hands you have you can find one that works for you.
