I have it and it reads well but I haven't put any work into it yet so can't comment on how it plays.

I also would be very interested. I am likely to purchase the effect due to my like of Mark Elsdon's prior works, but if there is a review forthcoming, well.... I might just wait and look before I leap.

There is some pretty straightforward memorization required, but it isn't difficult. If it doesn't get used, that will be the reason - and that is a shame because that is what makes this so incredible. Best, Atlas |

I ordered this from Full52's website a week ago. Got the shipping notification today, so I'll probably get it in two weeks time.
Took the plunge hoping this to not be one of them routines where English is a prerequisite. Does anyone know if this works in other languages as well? |

The principles involved will be applicable to whatever language, but you won't be able to perform it as it comes.

I got this a few weeks ago and I highly enjoyed the booklet. It was in fact thinner than anticipated, but the material is great.
However, I feel this routine carries strong recemblance with a methodology from Ned Rutledge. As I don't have the booklet here, I can't remember if Mark Elsdon credits Mr. Rutledge. I guess Mar. Credits him, as I remember there is a history-section in the booklet. This routine isn't entirely propless, but comes close to propless if you use Colin McCleods approach (which is included in the booklet.) I much prefer Colins take on the routine, although both are great. I recommend Fooling with Freud if you're after a seemingly impromptu presentation of mind reading (using pen & paper) and have enjoyed the previous books in the the CAM-series. As previously mentioned in this thread, the routine requires some memorisation, but much less than other "propless effects". Nothing new in terms of methodology (again a nod to Ruthledge), but I feel this routine will fly well in the hands of the right performer. Personally, I like this, but not enough to put it to use. I enjoyed the read, and will pick up future releases in the CAM-series. |

Unlike some well known performers, Mark definitely credits Ned Rutledge. In fact he admires Ned so much that he eagerly came to lunch with me to meet Ned's son Dane in Manhattan last week. Dane was thrilled to see such a nuanced and interesting application of his Dad's work. I was thrilled to be a fly on the wall and get another peep into Mark's brilliant mind. HIs work is out of the box yet very direct and deceptive.

I've purchased this as well and I thought it was a nice blending of methods. However because I didn't find anything "new" I wasn't sure it warranted being its own seperate CAM book, outside of the CAM series. The structure and involving of multiple (up to 4-5) spectators is a nice touch I will say.
One nice idea referencing the above idea by Colin McLeod. I'm thinking this could work really well with the social media app - you could create the posts within that app and get a nice 2 for 1 punch by predicting a 4 digit number as well. |
