you did ask... the book of that film is called The Midwich Cuckoos by the way...and there was a follow up film too... Netflix - house on haunted hill shows a lot of psychometry and precognition...but probably not the happiest of things to use for inspiration, but at least shows a realistic scenario of how psychometry would work and how tiring it would be to have it...

Nobody has yet mentioned "Leap Of Faith" (1992) Starring Steve Martin and Debra Winger. The plot line is clearly based on The Amazing Randi's takedown of so-called "faith healer" Peter Popoff.
