How do I enter the password at the world magic centre? Each time I click 'A' the site takes me to the home page again!
Thanks Shane |

Shane,
Click each letter slowly and wait for the next screen before proceding onto the next letter. Also remember to put in the space. If that doesn't work, then you simply don't have the password.

Al seems to be working overtime to sort these problems out. I had download problems & he was very patient with me. Everything's sorted our now & I'm waiting for his next release.
This must be the best $10 value in the Café. Thanks Al |

I talk with Al on almost a daily basis. He discovered that some people who e-mail him put nothing in the subject line. He usually deletes these as spam mailings. It was only by curiosity he discovered some of these were legitamate e-mails. It may be a good idea to put "coin book" or "On Coins" or something similar in the subject of any e-mail referring to the book.

My issues had been cleared up. It does help to put something in the message line.

No the Cone and Coins is a separate effect sold by Al. The coin is silver dollar size.

Does anyone know where I can find out the mechanics of Al's Kickback move? It looks very similar to the retention pass that I came up with years ago, and I'm curious to find out if Al and I created the same thing independently.
Thanks in advance. |

I just downloaded the Ebook and had to use a second link to be able to do it. There appear to be some conflicts with the link and Al is working hard to fix it.
Please have patience, put something in the subject line and if you have a problem, email Al directly at the address on the site. He will take care of you. He is an honorable man. By now, I expect most, if not all of you, know that. Kirk |

"Cone and Coins" was originally printed in "Al Schneider on Close-Up." He may have sold it as a separate item for awhile, the chinese coin you see in the video clip was a special one he had made.
Apparently, he gave (or sold) the rest of these chinese coins to Todd Lassen, who is using them for other tricks. They're very distinctive -- they have a dragon that wraps around the hole in the center. Go to: http://www.toddlassen.com/csb.htm And look at the set named, "1921 Morgan, Dragon Coin, Pakistan Set." I think that's the dragon coin there. Jeff |

Since reading this book, am I the only one having trouble with SOC2. It's in the coin box section. The problem starts at number 7 thru 11. Maybe I'm just tired or something. It seems to have the coins and hand positions messed up.

It's my opinion that the real learning experience from Al Schneider on Coins comes from exploring his take on misdirection and body language. The routines that he details are fairly commercial, and not complicated in the least. And the mechanics of the sleights, while excellently contrived, are, in most cases, nothing new to a magician who's been "in it" for awhile. He sells his effects to his audiences because he's a genius with body language and natural misdirection methodology. I've improved in these areas just from reading his book, and thinking it over very carefully when I'm done reading, and as Curtis mentioned earlier in this post, reading and thinking again after that.

I know this is an old topic, but for anyone looking for this now, many of Al's books including Al Schneider on Coins, and Dances With Coins, are available on Amazon at very reasonable prices.

Yes, a very old post indeed, but good to get news as to where these old keys might lie at this point in time. Thanks PJ, and welcome to this part of the Café.
*Oh, and the post above your's here from Mike Wild, reminds me of some excellent works he put out as well quite a while back. Haven't heard from him in some time around these parts, but he's a very good coin man, that really knows his stuff. I hope he is well.

MB and Mike, It's funny for me to see you posting here because I admire your work very much. I have been trying to focus on no gaff coin routines but I get distracted with some gaffs. You both have fantastic performances. I prefer video but I also like Al's style of writing. I spend too much time reading and watching and not enough time practicing.
Mike, I am still trying to learn your Rattle Purse 2.0 and Glass routine and others from the Purse 1 Companion DVD and Knock Out Coin Magic, great stuff. MB, I have some of your videos also, you make them look so 3asy, my head goes Kaboom when I try to practice your crimp change and transpo. Not quicky trickies for me. |
