Just curious what you guys would recommend for a "clean" and gaffless torn and restored card effect? Looking for something I can do "on the fly" when asked to see something. I am tired of showing the same old Stuff

Torn by Daniel Garcia
-some of the best visual phases you will see in a t&r routine -not too difficult -better aesthetically than "ripped and restored" that it's based on -sorta fits your "on the fly" requirement depending on your skill -bit angley, but not more so than most t&rs out there, and doing so without the crazy gaffs that many have. technically you could just use a simple switch (paperclipped comes to mind) |

I rather like Ben Harris's Hoodwinked for a totally impromptu T&R, requiring no gimmicks, leaving you clean start and finish.
It's not perfect by any means but it's a great quickie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k7h4NquOg8 |

You may be interested in reading Dani DaOrtiz's "Card Cemetery" monograph on the torn and restored card. Extremely interesting, and contains a few impromptu versions.

Paul Harris' "Ultimate Rip Off" is still a go to method for a gaffless T & R with just one card. Steve Reynolds discussed and described this effect in a recent issue of Magic.

I've been tempted to purchase the "Torn" by Daniel Garcia DVD for a while now...It is quite visually appealing.

RE4RM by Blake Vogt. I really loved the trick and it works impromptu. You can be surrounded by people and still pull it off.

Yes I think too "Counterfeit" by Wayne Houchin is really good but it needs a little bit of practice.

Ya torn by Daniel Garcia is a great effect. I have been performing it for a long time. It is best when done about face high (spectator's face). If there is a bigger group of people I just gather them up and back up giving space between me and the crowd to reduce thier angle of visibility. One thing I also learned from doing this trick is not to say anything about the trick. If the spectators are wondering what your doing until the very first repair they will be floored. If you tell them you will tear and restore a card they will be looking for the trick as you do it and are more likely to catch the off angles.

Not exactly gaffless but J.C. Wagner's T&Rs only gaff takes about 1 1/2 seconds to make and I've often made it on the fly. Plus if you don't give away the restored card at the end it makes it even easier to make.

I heard from a friend that anecdotal evidence is actually quite reliable. |

When you say gaff less.. I believe most effective ones involve at least one additional part.. Does that count?
