I was thinking a magician had done this as well...then it occurred to me that I was just thinking about an Andrew Mayne trick called Extreme Brain Damage.

What comes to mind off the top of my head...

A flat bag is unfolded and a bottle produced from it.

Pat Page tucks a silk in the mouth of a small brown paper bag, blows it up like a balloon and pops it showing the silk is gone.

There are ways to throw a deck in a bag and shake it and NOT mix the cards, which is extremely useful.

Steven Brundage used brown paper bags in his rubicks cube routine on America's Got Talent.

Trick or treat candy Misers Dream.

The old gag for making the invisible deck visible by having the spectator tossing the pretend deck to the Magi who "catches" it in the bag and taking it out, now visible.

I have an effect where a gift bag is unfolded from flat and a random gift a spectator selects from a catalogue appears inside, which is given to him.

Etc.

Just musing on some tricks done over the years, combined into a flowing routine ...

muse enters with a bag from favorite fast food joint, perhaps munching on a fry. He reaches in, extracts a cup, crumples the bag and tosses it aside.
After an magic effect with the cup the back is uncrumpled and something else extracted from inside -- perhaps a purse full of coins.

This can be repeated many times with a new prop extracted for the "empty" bag as needed. At the end the objects on the table are many times larger than the bag size.
"the more one pretends at magic, the more awe and wonder will be found in real life." Arnold Furst

Tommy Plays Ball
Needed: (i) Paper bag (ii) Pen in right trouser pocket (iii) small ball in bag

Little Tommy wasn’t tall
But he loved the game of basketball

He approached the school team – he wanted to play
Today would be his lucky day

The coach saw Tommy was so short
He could help Tommy – or so he thought

“Tommy,” he said, “We must give you a test
To see if you’ll be able to play with the rest

Here’s a paper bag and here’s a ball

I took the small handball out of the paper bag

Get the ball in the bag – that is all

But Tommy couldn’t get the ball in the bag

I tossed the ball into the air and as it fell it hit the back of my hand

And so his spirits started to sag

“Tommy,” he said, “It’s not so tragic
I’ll help you out – I can do magic

You can play basketball – you’re not being conned
We’ll just use my pen as a magic wand

I hold the ball in my right hand and pretend to put it in my left hand and reach into my right pocket for the pen and leave the ball in my pocket. I hold the pen with my right hand and tap my left.

“There is no reason for you to be miserable
Just take this ball – here – now it’s invisible.”

I open my left hand. I put the pen back into my pocket.

Now to everyone, Tommy could brag
Cause the invisible ball he could get in the bag

I performed the “bag snap” several times as I tossed the “invisible ball” into the air.

Percy Abbott had a number of tricks that used a paper bag as the "main" prop (see the early catalogs. My first catalog, #7, had many paper bag tricks. "Dollar" tricks, in those days, "kept the door open". Especially during the Depression!

Produce the 8ft straw from said bag.
It's not their senses that mislead, it's their assumptions.

This one is cute. I really like the patter. Family friendly and perfect for kids.
