Hello. My name is Tony and I live in Toronto Canada. I'm 36 years old and am very new to magic.
When I was a kid back in the 80s, I had a "Merlin Magic Set" and never really took the time to understand or comprehend its full power. The set was thrown away when I was a teenager in the early 90s and not much thought was ever given to it again. Fast forward a few decades and here I am more mature, more understanding and more willing to unleash the potential of this hobby. My goals for 2017 are to start small. I want to learn how to make my sleights look natural. I am wanting to start with sponges and cups/balls to accomplish this. I just purchased Michael Ammar's first DVD on cups and balls and will start to review its content this weekend. I have yet to purchase any physical items such as the sponges and cups/balls. If you've read this far, thanks for following along. I'll be posting my updates as I learn and progress. |

Welcome TonyBToronto,
I have nothing against Cups and Balls but there are not very many places that they can be done for most hobbyists (so many do them in less than optimal situations and flash). I suggest working on something else in tandem (like a card trick) that has fewer angle problems so you won't have to go for the C&B unless it is a good situation. Best of luck. Magic is a great interest and it is filled with interesting folks too! -Mary Mowder |
