I am wondering if there are any good magic shops around the Philadelphia area. Thanks!

Well, I think you were "born too late"!!

Mitchell Kanter (60 years ago!) "SATAN" Wilfred Syltten, ditto. JACK CHANIN (40-50 years ago) ETC.

I still have my Kanter Die Box bought in '46. Satan sold me a quick trick, invented by Bill Williston in the '20s, for $1.00. back, in the early '50s. --One of the best dollars that I've ever spent!!!!! (I've used that bit in about 20,000 shows, all over the USA.) Jack Chanin and I spent an hour at the MAES convention, back in '54, discussing "rope cutting". --One of the most worthwhile hours that I ever "spent". Years later, we were both "brothers" in the SECRET SIX, along with Dick Jarrow, Dick Mossey, Karrell Fox, Duke Stern,Jay Marshall, and Abb Dickson.

Real Brick & Mortar shops have mostly disappeared since those days. Hopefully, for your sake, someone from the Philly area will be able to help you.

Denny Haney (Denny & Lees Magic in the Baltimore area) is a GREAT shop. Denny is an old pro. and, very helpful. (Google him) Tell him I sent you.

Good luck!

PS: In "my day", one could check the "yellow pages"!
