I have practiced Eric chiens retention vanish an average of 5 hours a Day for the last week. I would say that I did improve the very first day, however, after that no improvement. My fingers jump all over the map.
Is there any advice on how to get This move down. I am afraid that I will get bad habits from repeating my bad move all day. I would go super slow...but that comes with Its own set of challenges as Eric chien himself says on the dvd. Any advice would be apreciated |

Practice a little every day. The flow comes from muscle memory. If you spend too long practicing, you get tired and fatigue leads to bad habits.
S.E.M. (The Sun, the Moon, and the Earth) is a sun and moon routine unlike any other. Limited to 100 sets, here is the promo:

I agree with Michael, shorter sessions will be far superior than marathons. The aspect of our person that is responsible for dexterity, feeds on visuals and tactile sensory input. It does not respond (and possibly not at all) from the little voice in our heads that "coaches" us in whatever our native spoken language is. Thus, watch Chien's DVD, without practice. Turn the sound off and watch it. Play music and watch it. Watch it and walk through the movements at as slow of speed possible without chopping up the movement. If you do not get in a hurry, or become impatient, you will find success. Frankly, I love the moves that take obscene amounts of time; things that you do not find proficiency even after a month.
But for God's sake don't let that voice in your head describe the movements to yourself with the expectation that your body will respond. The simple fact is we learned to walk before we could talk. Your body communicates movement beyond language. |
