Mr. Larry Jennings' "Oil & Water" (his DVD: 'Thoughts on Cards') is great. My spectators are in awe. They, before & after the performance, ask to check & re-check the cards, thinking, they have to be gaffed.

My favorite Oil and Water has to be Rene Lavand's It Can't be Done Any Slower. It's a graduate degree in card handling. I also like Derek Dingle's Oil And Water.
As for Assemblies, I have a modified handling of Darwin's Hitchcock Aces. His Modern Jazz Aces is very nice. And for extra credit check out Larry Jenning's Slow Motion Larry, his take on the Professor's original. Hopefully that helps... |

I posted "They Won't Mix" an Oil and Water effect to the Perverse Magic thread of the Genii Forum on November 1, 2005.
I contributed "Direct Ace Assembly" to Harry Lorayne's "Best of Friends Vol III" |

I'm a fan of Ray Kosby's Oil & Water. Each phase looks more impossible and crazy than the last.

Tom, I enjoyed your video of Oil and Water. My favorite Ace Assembly is an old one by Marlo that I have seen in a Randy Wakeman book or lecture notes (bluff assembly ? I am not sure). Why, because it is the first one I have learn and it is a good one.
Favorite Oil and Water, yes I have one but I cannot tell you more because you cannot find it, it's mine. I have seen one by A. Owen, another by J.P. Vallarino, I like the two. |
