Hanging Coins is one of my favorite tricks. I've been going through David Roth's "Expert Coin Magic," by Richard Kaufman and recently got to The Original Hanging Coins in chapter 5. Here is a video of me practicing it, followed by a variation of it using sleights from Kainoa Harbottle's "Coins On Edge."

I wanted to try to come up with some different patter for The Original Hanging Coins and have been playing around with the false explanation in the first version. The desert island joke I stole from Curtis Kam's Penguin Live lecture, where I believe he mentions someone else first put that joke and Hanging Coins together.

Constructive criticism and advice is appreciated. So is sharing your favorite Hanging Coin routines.

Dave

P.S. How does one embed videos here?

Pretty awsom! Well done! Both parts are pretty good! Actualy it really looks magic! The first part feels someway better. But it looks almost the same (for a spectator).
Thx for showing/sharing!

Well done and I believe Curtis gives Mike Close credit for the desert island joke.

Is there a specific reason why you think so? Is there something with the variation that I could improve with practice or does it have more to do with the presentation?

Yes, you're correct. I went back and found that part of the lecture.

Trying to embed the video again here. Let's see if it works.
