If you mastered most of his routine verbatim from this DVD, how long would it last for?
Thanks Tom. |

That is not the case, you can do any ball magic manipulation you wish. Bond Lee was not even born, when I first leaned Billiard Ball magic by many of the masters in my early years. Those routines can still be presented today, and are just as effect, but now I can add something like Bond Lee's fabulous 4 ball production anywhere I think it would be effective in the routines I had already learned and preformed. I am very excited with what Bond Lee as decided to share with the magic community, as it is really great methods for anyone that puts in the time and effort to master these moves. Hope this answered your question. Born an Reborn is not necessarily a routine or act, it is an accumulation of moves and sequences that are learned by the purchaser from Bond Lee's DVDs. As you learn and commit to memory both mental and physical, you can arrange these moves and sequences that fit your style of act, and how you wish to present to your audiences. You are at liberty to change them around in any manner you wish to place then in your routine you devise. How long this will last as to do with how long you wish to present them. The learning and practice never stops, as old and new material may fit into your presentation act over the years. As long as your are mentally and physically able to perform, you will have the material. |

I don't have the DVD yet, but we do not know if Bond Lee includes every effect and routine on the DVD in the same act. What you will get is an accumulation of effects that you can insert into your routine, that you design. |

It doesn’t directly answer your question but my routine with pretty basic moves from Pop Haydn and Alan Wakelings routines, clocks in at about 3:30.
I’m sure the bond lee dvd gets more complicated, so you should easily be able to build a routine that long if you wanted to. Of course how you want to pace your act comes into play. I would also highly recommend the bond lee 2” balls, they are incredible. |

I wonder if the question 'If you mastered most of his routine verbatim from this DVD, how long would it last for?' means "How long would it take to learn/master all the moves?"
There are youtube videos of Bond Lee performing that give you the length of his various acts. The routine at this link, for instance, lasts 4:17 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XerM-b-jG3Q&t=13s The point of any book or instructional video on manipulation is to give you a wide variety of sleights, techniques, routines etc from which you pick and choose to put together a routine of your own. The length of the act may also be affected by the choice of background music--and even the time constraints of the venue where you are performing. To answer the question as I see it, the time it takes to master any routine varies for each individual. Some people have a knack for learning sleights quickly. It might take other people considerably longer. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez

Tom 1926,
It would be beneficial to get the 1st video, to see if you wish to go further. The 1st video "BORN" is half the price and uses the techniques that are in "REBORN". BORN is also half the price at $40 at Penguin Magic. I just ordered REBORN and will report back when I receive the 2 DVD set and see what additional material it offers. It would be best to get the shells and balls marketed by BOND LEE. There are a number of additions to learn not included in the BORN DVD, so additional purchases will be necessary. |

Your time will be well spent on learning the techniques used. These techinques are not something you can watch, then run out and perform, they are manipulation, and a lot of time practicing rehearsing will be needed. |

Thank you Bill!
Have you tried 1 to 4 balls technique with 2 inch set? Sorry, but for me it is so difficult ( is it possible ? Bond Lee doesn't use 2 inch balls in his DVD's, so my question was based on my experience and on what I see in the DVD's. Best,

I am 5' 10" inches tall, so that means my fingers are not long enough to use 2 inch balls. I use the 1-3/4 inch size balls. and it is still a stretch, but workable.
Of course One to Four, it took me week to get the finger placement and learning the spread of my fingers. I can do the 1 to 4 slowly, and now I am working on speed. If you are not 6 foot or taller, then take your 2 inch balls and fame them in-between all your fingers, then leave them there, all day every day, until you stretch your fingers out. I would suggest you see a doctor before doing this, as you may cripple your hands for good, but that is your choice. Then weigh the pros and cons, if it worth for you. For me if something hurts, I don't do it, of course I am from the time when people had common sense. |
