I came across this knife and deer skin case/purse combo on Shinola's web site.
The case/purse would be great to use for the color changing knives. Anyone ever seen a purse sold like this. https://www.shinola.com/petite-knife-dee......861.html Click here to view attached image.

The case looks to have been based on a design from the 1800's

The knife and case are sold as a combo for $125.00. The pocket knife is nice but it would be a pricey acquisition just for that leather purse.

I agree Leo.
Was hoping someone might have seen a purse like that sold on it's own.

Guys, I have seen nearly identical cases sold individually in Japan. They are used to hold a hanko, which is a ivory (or plastic) carved name seal. They are used in place of a signature on documents as a stamp. they range in price from about 10 or 12 dollars to nearly 100 depending on the fabric or leather used to make the case. John Carney was selling these a few years ago for use with the Leipzig Cigar and Purse routine.
They are available with different configurations and shapes and I just looked them up online. You might also look at leather lipstick cases which are similarly proportioned. I've seen cloth holders for two knives, from FAB Magic. They were inexpensive.

I bought a piece of leather from a craft store, took my three knives in to a tailor, and had him sew one for me. Total cost about $25 to hold all three. Had same thing done for my cigars and my back up knife set.
Almost ever time I've tried to adapt something for magic, I've ended up with crap in the drawer. Better to have what you need custom made. Less costly in the long run. Hudson |
