Hello Friends - did anybody have experience with this trick? I did not find it on sale. Do you think - Brad Ross - the inventor of this version of the picture or not. Any your thoughts thank you!

Brad customized the trick put out by Practical Magic, who licensed it to Marty at Dazzling Magic here in the US. Not knowing where you are, PM is the way to go outside the USA. If you're in the states, it's difficult as Marty dropped production of it last year due to his busy schedule (although I believe he still sells the inserts.) Ordering in the US from PM is very expensive, almost doubling the cost as explained to me by PM. Obviously Brad has customized his insert for marketing purposes, and that ability makes this version very nice. I suggest you check the "tricks for sale or trade" here on the café, or (as I did) find it on other used magic sites. Good luck!

I own a Professional Magic Painting prop. I bought it from Marty Hahne at Dazzling Magic in December 2015. He only makes them up in small batches now and then, so it isn't always listed on the Dazzling Magic website (when it is listed, you'll find it under the "Make we make" section).
I'm very happy with the prop, and I've used it in several shows. I have the child initial the picture (before it is revealed to be coloured in), and keep it as a souvenir. When buying the prop, I also bought a set of extra inserts for it (it came with a full set of the Birthday inserts, and I bought a set of the Christmas inserts). Because the prop is big, and the inserts are big, and they need to be shipped flat, it's best to order both at once. But at some point I intend to get customized artwork for it as well. If you want to buy a prop that Marty builds, it's best to contact him and express your interest. That way he can put you on a waiting list, etc. http://www.dazzlingmagic.com/ I saw a photo on Facebook this past week, that Marty and Brenda had a booth for Dazzling Magic at the Abbott's Magic Get-Together. But I didn't see any Professional Magic Painting props in the photo they showed of their booth. Just their various Crystal Cylinder Supremes, Test Tube Bunnies, etc. On the Dazzling Magic website, the prop was called Professional Magic Painting. On the Practical Magic website, the prop was called New Style Magic Painting. *** Note - I think there's a larger selection of inserts for the prop, on the Practical Magic website. I've only ever seen 3 different insert choices on the Dazzling Magic website (Birthday Clown, Christmas Santa, Young Magician). On the Practical Magic website, they also have Pirate, Football, and Princess inserts. I can't find my instruction sheets just now, but I do recall that the prop wasn't invented by Marty (or Brad). - Donald P.S. Hi, Donald...I emailed Marty early this year, after PM suggested I contact him because of the incredible shipping costs. Marty said that his program schedule was so busy that he had decided not to make any more, and apologized. Perhaps he may put a few together at his whim, but he did not express that to me. Edit...was it not "invented" by John Breeds?

It says on the Practical Magic website that "Gary Mark" invented this version of the Magic Painting trick.
https://practical-magic.com/products/new......painting I seem to recall that Marty was busy with performing and also family commitments (and I think there was a move in the mix, too) in 2016. Here is Marty performing the version he builds: John Breeds invented the other version that visually changes as you pull it out, and you pull the picture out facing the audience (you can't give this version of the picture away, at the end of the trick, like you can with the other version). Hank Lee and Ickle Pickle made the John Breeds version of the painting trick... I'm not sure if they credited John or not. You can see the Ickle Pickle version of the frames and inserts on the Laflin Magic Store website, for example. For the Ickle Pickle (John Breeds style) version, the inserts that Laflin Magic sells: frosty snowman, rudolph reindeer, Christmas tree, caterpillar to butterfly, rabbits from hat, sad / happy clown, and happy birthday rabbit. I think that Albion Magic in the UK also makes & sells the John Breeds version, with various inserts available. But again, I'm not sure if they credited the inventor, John Breeds. They seem to have different inserts. - Donald

I just found this video from the late owner of Practical Magic, which describes more applications of the Magic Painting prnciple and even a descption of how the trick works. Perhaps it proves useful for some of the Magic Café members. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pux4Bo4ZG7U
