So tommorow I am going on holiday to Plymouth in the UK where my brother lives, I have been recommended a second hand & vintage book shop that has literally 10,000s of books and I am wondering if anyone has any books to have a look for, they specialise in 1800s to 2000s and have literally every book you can think of, so if anyone knows some old magic books I might see could they let me know?
Also what would you recommend taking to practice whilst away (I will not be performing but I'll be showing family etc a lot) for example, books , decks of cards, gimmicks.
Cheers!
Ryan

Hi Ryan
A long while back I wrote a short post at the link below about two books that perfectly fit your question. Both 1800s, and both essential reading. I'd be very interested to hear if you find them in the shop. Best of luck,
Greg

I own a true 1st edition copy of Maskelyne & Devant's Our Magic (1911). If you see it, you should pick it up.

So I am back, and I'm quite disappointed.
The shop owner was rude and when pointing me to the 'magic section' I found that it was very unorganised.
There were not many magic books and certainly none of heard of are any that you guys had recommended.
In the end I left with Card Manipulations by Jean Hugard, which is a readily available book anyway, but I got it for a very cheap £0.20
(About $0.25)
