Hi
Any possibility to receive a short message with the highlights of this important event for the unlucky people that couldn't attend? I am sure that it was a big success Thanks in advance/Fabio |

Unfortunately I was only there for one day (Satureday), but this day was a great experience again. Espacially the lectures of Luke Jermay about preshow and Max Maven about building a stage persona were absolutly inspiring. I really enjoyed, that the lectures were not about trickery, but about much more important topics.
And of course it was great to meet all this people there again. It is really like a family meeting (but without the faniliy disputes ). I had a lot of inspiring talks and a lot of fun.
Sorry for my English! My German is a little bit better ;-)

This was my first Mind Summit. It was an excellent event.
Thomas Heine and Rainer Mees of Paralabs are of course well known for their genuine passion for the art of mentalism, their respect for it's history and creators, and for their attention to detail in their products and performances. This all shone through in their design and delivery of this convention. They employed professional help to ensure everything ran smoothly. The venue was fantastic with a large stage, well lit, with good acoustics. There was plenty of space inside and outside to socialise, share ideas and relax. On Day 1 they ran two tracks of lectures, one in English and the other in German and I think this worked well. I got a lot from Jan Foster's lecture about Cards in Mentalism and was also the first participant in an effect he demonstrated. I really enjoyed the lecture on storytelling in mentalism by Dr. Knut Knackstedt. That evening some of those presenting and others attending performed in a show for the public. I thought it went down very well. I was thoroughly entertained. Kennedy was hilarious from the start. Thomas produced something beautiful, that pulled together many of the ideas expressed in Paralabs mentalism theory lectures. The highlight for me was the spectacle provided by Sven Heubes, with an epic table-turning routine. He was also charged with being the host of the event overall, so it was great to see him in performer mode too. On Day 2 the organisers really showed their ambition, deploying their speakers to go deep into everything other than tricks. I opened the day at 10am demonstrating and lecturing on Hypnosis in Mentalism. I provided a couple of demonstrations including my 'Annie De Montfort Seance'. It is never too early to let the dead speak. It seemed to go down well. I invoked the most famous lyrics of Goethe to encourage us to know the rules to break the rules. I followed up by positioning hypnosis as a jewel in the crown of suggestion, rather than the other way around. With that out of the way, I thoroughly enjoyed so much of the rest of the day. Patrick Ehrich gave a fantastic talk about Music in Mentalism. Max Maven a wonderfully entertaining and coherent jaunt around the topic of Building a Character. Luca Volpe and Max, son of Rainer then slammed home a thorough and hugely valuable lecture about making quality videos. So many free resources tipped. That boy has tons of talent and a wonderfully calm manner and is going to go places, and Luca is very amusing too. A highlight of Day 2 was Luke Jermay. He has been on incredible form in every lecture I have heard of his in the last year or so and this was no exception. Incredible insights about PS in mentalism. Outstanding level of detail and pro insight. Unfortunately for me my flight meant I missed his finale where he spoke again, this time about Q and A, however the reports from those that were there were that it was magnificent, deep, powerful and ultimately incredibly moving. How often does a lecture get standing ovation! I do hope I get the chance to see it again. It was a bold move by the organisers to go down this 'themed' route. Personally I found it to be refreshing and ultimately of more value than 'trick-led' presentations. I have no idea how they will follow it, but I believe they plan to do so next year, and I for one will most definitely be attending. My thanks and respect go out to everyone involved! Anthony

Thank you so much for the appreciation. This means a lot to us and is obviously encouraging.
This year we even made it to the break even ... which is both, a relief and a good sign for the future as well. Speaking of the future: as those who attended obviously realized, we changed the concept this year so that we didn't request presenters first and foremost but compiled an event based on topics in the first instance that were of particular interest for our attendees. And as this concept seemed to be very well received and reviewed, we will go the same route next year. This means that we like to invite those who are interested in attending in 2018 to drop us an email with topic suggestions to ... heine@para-q.com Simply tell us what would be of most interest for you and we will look for the most requested topics on the one hand and the best presenters possible on this on the other. Cheers Th. |

Mind Summit is a wonderful convention, organised by some of the nicest and best in the business. I am honoured to be able to call Thomas & Rainer friends and to be asked to present twice now is a huge privilege.
I can wholeheartedly recommend anyone who is looking for a deeper understanding of mentalism to make the trip to Germany to experience the Summit. 10/10

Being at mind summit it makes you wonder on the generosity you experience there. A trusting and caring spirit, three+ days to discuss ideas, jam, share and reflect your approach to mentalism with people you know and those you just made friends with. Thanks to Paralabs and their skill for bringing people together for an invaluable exchange - amicable and professional.
Big names and experts, as well as those just interested in mentalism or magic can come here to experience something extraordinary, connecting: a convention (or convent so to speak) in a special esprit, deep insights and humanly moments, in professional breadth you may not find anywhere else. Mind Summit is a annual highlight for those who attend it and every year the "family" grows. Personally this years highlights were those moments when something clicked in: those humanly aspects of life who give new motivation to follow your own way in mentalism. - Be it conversations, an emotional moment in a talk or situations that developed. I realize that it may sound a bit sentimental, but this is an aspect we tend to neglect when it comes to the exchange of (and) our art. The exchange among each other makes this event so special. |

Wonderful said! I had a fantastic time there as well. I truly enjoyed the new concept, great thinking behind. Overall probably the best Mind Summit ever or until today, and for sure one of the best mentalism conventions anyway. Jan

Hope to see you there!
Maybe you should mark September 14-16 for Mind Summit 2018 in your calendar. Thanks a lot for all the kind words! It was a pleasure for Rainer and me and a wonderful experience again. The positive response that we got from our attendees as well as from our brilliant presenters indicates that we are on a good way. The new concept to go with contents and topics first and foremost and only then to look for the best presenter possible on a particular topic worked perfectly and was very well received. Because of this concept the lectures were unique; none of them was on DVD or online available in advance as all these lectures were designed especially to meet our demands for this particular topic at Mind Summit 2017. Obviously this caused more efforts for our presenters; and we are very thankful that all of them accepted this challenge and took these efforts. And all of them even surpased all expectations we had! So thank you again to our brilliant talents Max Maven, Luke Jermay, Looch, Jan Forster, Kennedy, Luca Volpe, Patrick Ehrich, Knut Knackstedt, Florian Severin, Marco Fida, Sven Heubes, Anthony Jacquin and Max Mees. So, hope to see some of you in 2018 (again)! Cheers Th. |

This event is fantastic! It was the first time my wife and I had attended and we were very impressed with the family atmosphere of the event. The names of the presenters giving the lectures speak of the quality of the event. In addition to that the 'spaces' between the lectures were wonderful, uncovering gems at every turn. I got the feeling that every area of attention had been covered, great and small: the presenters, the time between the lectures, the free-wheeling evenings, the organisation, the food, the venue, the friendships, kindness and goodwill... and in, through and amongst it all Thomas, Rainer and Jana moved and had time for everyone and everything.
If there's something you want to show, this is the place. If there's something you want to ask, this is the place. It was disarmingly wonderful to find out how approachable everyone was, presenters included. I learned about everything from presentational philosophy to the details of a card move. The changing focus from broadbrush to minutiae and back again will make your head spin — there's so much to take in. Others have spoken of the presenters so I thought I should mention too that the venue was lovely, the hotel was welcoming and the city itself was beautiful. Naturally, with Thomas and Rainer's attention to detail an evening tour of the city had been arranged. What's not to love in a city cathedral where you can see the golden tomb of the three wise men amongst many other historical details! We had a wonderful time and I'm very grateful to Thomas and Rainer for creating the event. We now have another reason to remember the astonishing 'Oh! de Cologne'. *smile* |
