Going through my mind is a question of what impression the public gets about ventriloquism when a 12 year old kid can become that proficient and skillful in just 2 years.
It's probably good for the suppliers, but is it good for the pro performers? |

I don't see the human resource director saying, "If any 12 year old can do this, lets cancel the ventriloquist and hire a clown for the company Christmas party instead." In general, I think a ventriloquist act is a tough sale outside of very specific venues. Anyone, no matter their age, demonstrating how entertaining the art can be will only help grow the fan base. Most people never will respect the skill of ventriloquism; but most would at same time enjoy watching an entertaining ventriloquist. The more entertaining ventriloquists they are exposed to, the more they are likely to hire a ventriloquist, or purchase a ticket to see a show. |

Maybe, or do they just say, 'anybody can do that, let's get some professional talent?'
I don't know if making it look so easy is a good thing or not. |

If you appear to be doing the work, the puppet isn't a separate entity. And no, event planners haven't been turned off by a 12 year old winning. I'm getting more inquiries every day. People who never thought of using a ventriloquist are reaching out for their events. |
