Hi there,
Can someone here point me in the right direction here? I'm looking for a card box that you can show empty first, then have a chosen card "appear" in it. I'm aware of boxes like the Clarity Box and Mystery Solved and many others that have a "card" already in them. I'm sure such a thing exists but I don't know where to look. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. -David |

Jonathan Kamm’s “ToiBox” can be shown as empty then the chosen signed card can be secretly loaded in front of spec while showing empty and be revealed inside the tin at any point after that.

Thank you, that may be what I need for closeup work. I wonder if there’s anything I can get my hands on for parlor work.

What are the different requirements you need to meet for a different prop for parlor work ?

Something a little bigger than the Altoids tin would be nice so that people a little farther back can see it. Don’t get me wrong... I think the Toibox is a good solution. I was just wondering if there is something a little bigger. In this routine I’m working on, the card will be forced and unsigned, so there is no need to get the exact card in the final location.
I want to be able to show the box empty, then the next time they look, there’s a card inside and it’s their card. Thanks in advance! |

If you take out the stipulation that "they look" and find the card, there are several routines that hide a card on the box (inside the cellophane) to show empty. Then it is a fairly simple SOH move to "remove" the card from the box yourself. You can also shake the box just before the reveal and feign the sound of the card shaking around inside.
I'm really just brainstorming here as I do not know "all" the details and stipulations you seek but I am sure it can be done.

For a parlour setting you might try Marty Martini's Picture Frame. It is on his Magic You Can Make DVD. Its a nice clean display showing the parts of the picture frame and afterwards when it is turned over the card is there. Not a box but it works for a sudden appearance and is very easy to do
