Spectator spreads deck in hand. The Ace of Spades is there. Spectator spreads again, it has vanished. Magician does not touch cards.
I've tried roughing spray and rubber spray but it is inconsistent. I could use a two-faced card but the chance of discovery is too great. Any other ideas? It is ok if the spectator needs to spread a few times before the card has vanished. But once gone, it should not reappear in a subsequent spread. |

Have the ace of spades roughed on the face and place it in the middle of the face down deck.
Have the bottom card of the deck roughed on its face. They spread the deck from their left hand into their right hand. Once the ace of spades is visible have them break the spread then place the ace on top of the cards held in the right hand. Then place all of the cards in the left hand on top. When they spread again it won't show up. As an alternative you could place a piece of double sided tape on the face of the bottom card and follow the same procedure. And if you're worried about it not showing up, you could do the final spread yourself. |
