I own it and it goes over well. lots of versatility for story lines and built in humor. The method is so simple, but flies over the heads of all involved. Well made, and his customer service is top notch. |

Think about what you could put IN the box and does thAt bring idea of presentation....what about sponge balls of different colors...spring bills...silks... pin poms...plastic toys ....rubber ducks....a wig....

I spiced up my presentation by giving props to the volunteers... kings hat, tin cup for pauper, teeny tiny pink weight for the boy who is "so strong," multicolored graduation hat with propeller for the smart volunteer. As in many items of this nature the magic is in the ride, not necessarily the destination.

You and I think the same way... I added a crown for the king, a sweatband for the strongest kid, a pair of coke-lens glasses for the smart kid (although I like your graduation hat idea) and a beat up hobo clown hat for the peasant. I also add music for the background for each of the segments of the story -- I bought the Magic Box when it first came out and I don't remember if it came with any music back then or since... but I've added it regardless. When you dress-up a routine, it adds to it's production value and helps the story come alive. |

We performed U.F. Grant's Light/Heavy Glass successfully for a long time. Both kids and adults reacted very positively towards the mystery of "losing my strength". (Same method as Barry Mitchell's Box.)
Our presentation involved a large chunk of Green Kryptonite, Superman's weakness, too. One of the large green plastic gems from Barry Mitchell's Box would work fine as Kryptonite. Julie |

I purchased a light -heavy box and in both positions - conditions it stays heavy - any suggestions? The instructions were pretty vague.

The thing I don't like is that the effect ends up being that the chest is stuck to the tray, rather than the chest getting heavy. I've seen this even in Barry's performance of it. I suppose some audience management could remedy this, along with proper biomechanics.

To the tray, table...whatever...it should be the perception that it is too HEAVY to lift from the tray, table, etc. If there is any other perception, some part of the presentation has gone terribly wrong.
