Hi,
I have been performing this self-working card trick for well over a decade, I stumbled upon it in one of Brad Christian's Ellusionist DVD's. A shuffled deck of cards, 2 spectators that's all it needs. All the cards are spread face down, mixed untidily! The magician asks the spectator 1 to select a pre-determined card without looking the spectator points to the card and hands it over to the magician. The magician quickly looks at the card and advised spectator 2 to touch another pre-determined card and finally the last card is chosen by the magician. All three selections match the predicted cards. What is the name of this trick, who created it and is the principal used in any other tricks? Thanks, Nikhil |

See the summer 2016 issue of Gibeciere, the article on Borges. It contains a history of the effect, plus an analysis of the clever way in which Borges used it in one of his short stories.
