I used to have a silk vanish using a TT. However, the silk had a weight sewed
into a corner. So after you vanished the silk, you could show your hand empty,
make a fist, and with a sudden upward movement, the silk would come flying out
of your hand and caught with the other hand.

Anybody know the name of this effect and if it’s still available?

That sounds like someone's idea for a clever EFFECT. I'm not sure that you didn't omit "something", like the method of the vanish, or ?

The METHOD is the standard vanish using a TT.
The trick came with the special silk and TT

You description is just to generic, as all TT come with the vanishing silk and reproduction these days. Use to be the "Cigarette Through Handkerchief", but today it is the vanishing silk.

Being lead is now a metal that is considered toxic, fishing lead weights cannot be sold for fear a child would put it in his mouth.

Being you know the method and effect, along with the props, I see know reason to bother knowing whether it is available today.

Magic sales have changed to be more like the normal retail products. Only a number is saturated on the market, and when supply is depleted they move to the next new trick. Gone are the days of magic products being available for 20 or 30 years.

The internet fast advertising where more people can find out about an available product, has turned the tide in magic sales.

Thanks! I figured it might well be the "basic" TT, but, wasn't 100% sure.

I think that Bill's comments, express my thoughts very well.

Hi Woodfield:

Yes, I remember the effect, and bought it at a convention years ago. I will check to see if I still have it, and will let you know. It was a slick effect - I remember being impressed when I saw the dealer demonstrating it.

Cheers,

Ron
