Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum. I usually haunt The Cellar but have been in a bit of a hiatus. I opened an oddities and curiosities shop where we sell odd/curious items, Gothic furniture, taxidermy, bones, gifts and unusual art. We also display items with their haunted histories for our customers to enjoy. A few times a year, we host events like seances, paranormal investigations, tarot classes etc which work tremendously well given the ambiance. The entire store has a Gothic/Victorian feel. For 2018, I've been thinking about how to make parts of the shop a bit more interactive in order to give our customers an additional experience. We have been thinking of small doors you open to see what is behind and also something where a person reluctantly sticks their hand in a hole and tries to guess what is inside. I would love to hear your ideas as to what the front of the box with the hole should look like keeping elegance in mind. Also, any ideas that you have for other ways to give customers a small sampling of the old sideshow/spookshow days while they shop without creating entire events, just small vignettes and displays. Thank you all in advance. Vanity Wilde |
