Anyone tried both the Move Zero DVDs by John Bannon, and the Ultimate Self Working Tricks DVDs by Big Blind Media?
Which do you prefer, the Move Zero DVDs or the Ultimate Self Working Tricks DVDs? And how do you think they compare? If I'm not mistaken, there are four DVDs in each series: - John Bannon's Move Zero: Volume 1 (2016), Volume 2 (2016), Volume 3 (2017), Volume 4 (2017) - Ultimate Self Working Card Tricks: Volume 1 (2012), Volume 2 (2013), Volume 3 (2014), Awesome Self Working Card Tricks (2015) |

I have the first three Ultimate DVDs, and the first 2 Bannon ones.
This is a real tough one. Both are excellent - in production quality, crediting, demonstration, effect choice. Really hard to decide between them. If push came to shove, and I could only pick 1, then I would prefer bannon for four reasons: there are more nuggets of insight and wisdom scattered throughout; it gives an insight into one of the major card thinkers of the time; there are more utility moves that are generally useful; taken as a whole I'd say the tricks are stronger, just. |

Interesting that both dvd sets are from BigBlind! I don't have all 8 discs, but I really like John Bannon overall better. The 'nuggets of insight' (tx Wizard) really take the tricks to performance level. eg we all know 'equivoque'; but how we present it can make a huge difference. And Bannon has obviously given this move a LOT of thought. Lynn

I actually prefer his book "Destination Zero" where many of the effects came from (I would assume). He has self workers in other books that may also be on the dvds. However, try the book, a ton of "Bang" for your "Bucks" (this book sold out once and fortunately, they did a reprint so you can still get it).

I have all of these except Bannon's last one ie 4. Top marks to both, but if I had to choose it's USWT, because I use far more from there (5 tricks). Bannon's AK47 is my only take-away from his series, but I don't perform it for strangers it's high-complexity.
It's not their senses that mislead, it's their assumptions.

Thanks for the feedback Donny.
Out of curiosity, which are the 5 tricks you use from the Ultimate Self Working Card Tricks series? |
