In the film - at 0:11 is an interesting transfer of the coin held by the edge. After the instant of transfer the coin is concealed by the fingers of the other hand. Another moment of stillness and then the other hand starts to move for the first change. In that context - no argument what he did was efficient. His thumb looks like it's clamping the coin that's on display. He does that extended fingers transfer again at 0:31, set for the second change. So far no fancy pickup sleights while the coin is turned over by the first finger for a clean display of both sides. Looks amazing. Just the right combination of moving hand, directed attention and stillness. I'll check the Victor book ASAP. I wish there was a shorter clip to reference - say 0:00 to 1:00 .

I was wondering if the Victor book might be, but I could only find it for sale. I have The Magic of Edward Victor's Hands but it doesn't seem to cover a lot of coin work- much on paddles and thimbles, though, and hand shadows- which make it a very interesting resource.

Here is a resource for a TON of online free books. Copyrights are expired so they can do this. Not all the links work though.

Thanks Michael, good to have the Victor book as reference.
If you skip the front palm transfer after the setup shown in figure 47 and proceed - you've pretty much got what you're looking for with the coin, fingers and thumb all set for the change. Starting the change from above (-to get the fingers pointing downward rather than about horizontally as shown by Kaps and Vernon) reads as less than streamlined... but it looks like he's figured out the machinery for a basic routine with proving moves to show each hand. The first concealment of the half dollar and steal to start the trick look interesting. Anyone here using them? Looks to me like Fred Kaps starts by doing a feint of the A-B-C-D display and turnover transfer setup from the Victor book. That probably surprised folks who read the Victor routine.
