Hello.
I have been lurking here for years, and only recently decided to register. I have been fascinated with magic ever since I was a little kid. I think I have had 2 or 3 of those cheap plastic magic kits for kids. Card magic however has always been my favorite kind, no idea why. When I was in high school, I would sit with my cards under my desk practicing false cuts and DLs (I am still terrible at both). The first trick I did properly, with a big audience (around 30 people or so) was at a freshman integration party in college, this is around 10 years ago. I remember I did a ripped card to bottle routine. I was nicknamed "mago" (magician in spanish, as I am Mexican) and I am still called that by people who went to that party. I am no longer that kid. I am married and I work as an innovation consultant in a global firm. But whenever I am at a call with a client, you bet I have a pack of cards in my hands. The difference is, I rarely practice false cuts now, I am mostly doing passes. (I am terrible at those too) Glad to join you guys. If anyone wants to speak about magic in spanish, shoot me a pm |
