Hello. I recently bought an old wooden drawer box. The action of opening the box is not very smooth, particularly when pulling out and pushing back in the outer d***** while retaining the load.
Should I rub some candle wax on the base of the wooden inner d*****? Is that the best way to make the motion more fluid? Any tips would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance. |

Graphite might be better. Candle wax is likely to be sticky. This probably should be in the workshop area rather than the Little Darlings.

Hi Napoleon!
I'm not much of a carpenter! But if my friend, Michael Bailey reads your question, I'm quite sure that he will have an expert opinion! (He builds BEAUTIFUL wooden props.) Jim "sneaked" in while I was writing! He knows wood props, too!

If you want to redecorate your drawer box and turn it into a "critter box" that kids will appreciate, the answers may be found in The Wizards' Journal #27 - "Drawer Box Mania".

Thanks, Dan.
I will PM you now, Dick. Jim, I loved reading 'Drawer Box Mania' from The Wizards' Journal #27, particularly the section on the Dissecting Drawer Box. |
